Martin Gerald Gonsiorowski, 75, passed away peacefully at his home in Hammond on September 21, 2024. Born on April 10, 1949, Martin dedicated his life to serving his country and nurturing his family. 

A proud Navy veteran, Martin served during the Vietnam War, embodying the values of loyalty and courage throughout his military tenure. After his service, he continued to support his community as a dedicated truck driver for Rush Electric, from which he retired after many years of commendable service. 

Martin was an outstanding father and grandfather, treasured by his family for his unwavering love and support. He was a graduate of Hammond Tech, which laid the foundation for his successful career and service. Martin was preceded in death by his parents Valerian Gonsiorowski and Eleanor Gonsiorowski (Witke), brother, Ronald Gonsiorowski, and sisters, Donna Wells and Gloria Whiddon. 

He is survived by sisters Valerie Ensign and Linda Orban along with many nieces and nephews and his dearest/best friend Bob Beamer. He is lovingly remembered by his children, Jason Gonsiorowski (Barb), Marc Gonsiorowski, and Alyson Cooper (Melissa); and his cherished grandchildren, Sebastian, Eleanor, Christopher, Alisha, and Madelyn. 

Friends and family are invited to gather and share memories of Martin on Friday, September 27th, 2024, at the ACEVEZ FUNERAL HOME, 4404 Cameron Ave., Hammond, IN, from 4:00-8:00 p.m. 

With a Prayer Service at 4:30pm with Fr. Eduardo Malagon Officiating.

His life and legacy will forever be cherished by those he loved and served.
