Age 77

Jeanette M. Castillo passed away peacefully on January 5, 2024 at Community Hospital, Munster with her loving family at her side. She is survived by her three daughters and one son; Tina (Manuel) Quintero, Dina Castillo, Christopher (Jessica) Castillo, and Jennifer Castillo.

She is survived by 8 grandchildren, Manny, Brianna, and Michael Quintero, Sarah Castillo, Kevin Castillo (King Jr.), Julian Castillo, Mackenzie Halas, Gabriel Kaiser, and 1 great grandchild, Elijah David Martinez. She is survived by one brother and two sisters, Walter (Cynthia) Haryasz Jr., Annette (Robert) Edge, and Charlene (late Raymond) Porter.

She is survived by many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, Raymond Castillo as well as her parents Virginia (Nadine) and Walter Haryasz Sr.

She is also preceded in death by her sister Debra and her Godson David Martinez.

Jeanette was a lifelong resident of East Chicago where she attended East Chicago Roosevelt High School class of 1964. She was an active member at St. Stanislaus Church and was a retired employee of the School City of East Chicago.

 She was a member of the Polish Women’s Alliance. She was a loving mother and grandmother, who always put her family first. She enjoyed her time with her husband taking car rides across the state, supporting her beloved Chicago Cubs, and attending her grandchildren’s sporting events.

She will be forever loved and forever missed.
