Kika passed away peacefully at UIC hospital with her daughters, Stacey and Stephanie, by her side.
Kika Frances is survived by her children Stacey Bergland, Saylor Acevez, Stephanie Corral, and Sergio Corral (esposa Jairi).
Kika was also a grandmother affectionately called Nana by her grandchildren. Nana's grandchildren included Vance Gillespie, Imani and India Cavazos, Nova and Sophia Dillon, and Miss Bri Vargas.
Kika is also survived by nieces, nephews, brothers Clemente and Vincent Acevez and their wives, Elaine Mana Acevez and Beatrice Acevez.

Kika's one-of-a-kind personality, coupled with her love for Afro Latin music and dance plus her deep commitment to her friends and community will be sorely missed but not forgotten.
Frances is joining her sisters Thindys Lindsey and Machi Rosemary Acevez and her mother, Helen Acevez.
May they all rest in peace.

Kika was a friend to many, always offering a non-judgmental ear, bright ideas, and laughter.
Her sense of humor is what is most lost, not just to her family, but to the world. She could make you laugh so hard you had to pee. Humor healed her and her tenacity kept her strong for many years. Kika will dance on in our memories.
She is missed already.

Stand up, Stand Out, Stand Tall like Kika always did...
