Emilio Luis Figueroa, born on December 25, 1986, in Chicago, Illinois, departed this life on March 4, 2026, after courageously battling stage 4 kidney disease. He was a cherished father, beloved son, caring brother, and devoted uncle, leaving a profound impact on all those who were fortunate enough to know him.
He is survived by his loving daughters, Arianna and Anesyia, and his sons, Emilio Jr. and Louis Figueroa. His father, Hector (Tina) Figueroa, continue to hold him dearly in their hearts. Emilio's close-knit family includes brothers Hector Figueroa, George Peterson, Jose A. Rodriguez, and Theodore Gonzalez, as well as sisters Sandy Brys, Jessica (Matt) McGivney, Benita Ramos, Selena Figueroa, and Janie (John) Miller. He was an adoring uncle to his nieces, Jade, Vivian, Vanessa, Jazmari,, Analise, Isabel, Jacqulyn, Sierra, Mia, and Paige, and his nephews, Andrew, Matthew, George Jr.,Jovanni, Jose Jr., and Jonathan Jr.
Emilio was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Margaret Peterson, and his grandparents, Marie and Leroy Townsend, as well as his Grand father, Hector Figueroa Sr., and his Aunt Cathy.
A visitation honoring Emilio's life will take place at Acevez Funeral Home in Hammond, Indiana. Family and friends can pay their respects on March 13, 2026, from 10:00 AM until 12:30 PM. Emilio’s legacy will forever live on in the hearts of his family and friends, who will remember him for his love, kindness, and strength. He is deeply missed and will be fondly remembered.
