Donna M. Tsikurios, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2025, in East Chicago, Indiana, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and warmth that will resonate in the hearts of those she cherished.
Born on May 25, 1959, in Chicago, Illinois, Donna graduated from George Washington High School in 1977, embarking on a life filled with vibrant joy and fierce dedication to her family. She was the devoted wife of Kenneth A. Tsikurios, Sr., spending 42 wonderful years together, a bond that showcased her commitment and deep affection. As a mother, she was unyielding in her support and encouragement to her children, Virginia Hack, Steven (Ashley Cooper) Tsikurios, and Kenneth A. Tsikurios, Jr., nurturing them with a love that inspired their growth and aspirations.
Donna's greatest pride came from her role as a grandmother to Ethen Tsikurios and Mary-Anne Hack. The sparkle in her eyes was ever-present when she spoke about her grandchildren, a testament to the joy they brought into her life. Each moment spent with them was a treasure, and she embraced her status as "Grandma" with immense pride.
Family meant the world to Donna, and her protective nature was something her loved ones always cherished. She was personable, funny, and sassy, bringing light into every gathering. Donna's bond with her sister, Renee (Donald) Kaczmarzewski, was filled with love and camaraderie. Also, sister to brother Edward (Gloria) Cote'. She looked forward to making memories with her many nieces and nephews, being the caring aunt who always had a listening ear or comforting words.
In addition to her strong familial ties, Donna had a passion for life and embraced her interests wholeheartedly. She found peace in gardening, knew the art of baking like no other, and delighted in riding her bicycle, which brought her closer to nature. Her spirit of giving was evident in her volunteer work, where she dedicated time to helping others and uplifting her community.
Donna was preceded in death by her husband, Robert D. Elliott, and her parents, Edward (Carol) Cote' and Mary (Roger) Highland, who undoubtedly welcomed her with open arms. Their legacy lives on through her.
Her visitation will be held on August 7, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Acevez Funeral Home in Hammond, Indiana.
As we remember Donna, we celebrate a life lived fully, filled with compassion and love. She will be missed immensely, but will also live forever in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
