On August 20, 2025 Barbara Kryszewicki entered into eternal life at the age of 70. Barbara is predeceased in death by her father Zygmunt, mother Magdalena and brother John. Also, preceded in death by beloved companion of 22 years Stanley Gorka.
She is survived by her dearest and closest neighborhood friends of over 60 years who are Rita Bragiel, Joanne Komyatte, Mary Counts Reeves, Jean Komyatte Shea, Diane Zatorski Nichols, Donna Tempco Gescheidler and long time friend of 42 years Wanda Szypczak Kamedula. Barbara was a lifelong resident of Hammond, Indiana and graduated from George Rogers Clark in 1972. T
he dance floor was Barbara's happy place. She was never more full of life than when she was Polka dancing with friends and family. She enjoyed her Polka music and would dance all night long. Barbara's wit was unmatched.
She knew how to make you laugh with stories that were hard to believe. One particular story had us in stitches when she proceeded to tell us that her beloved dog Bronco would go down the basement stairs with a pully that Barbara hooked up with her dirty wash in a basket. Bronco would get it to the basement where he dragged it to the washing machine, placed the clothes in the washer and knew just what buttons to press.
No one knows if this story has validity. Our heartfelt thanks to the staff at Riley Hospice, Munster Indiana, for their wonderful care given to Barbara in her last days. If you would like to make a donation in Barbara's name please do so at the Humane Indiana Shelter and Adoption Center, 421 - 45th Avenue Munster, Indiana , 219 922 3811 where Barbara adopted many of her dogs and cats over the years. Thank you, Barb for the crazy ride you gave everyone. We will never forget you. You will forever remain in our hearts. Rest in peace dear friend
